Adding Basic Information to a Welcome Message 

Route: MY APP > Select your product > OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION > Welcome Message 

  1. Activate the Welcome Message. 
  2. Select the “Edit Welcome Message” option. 
  3. Introduce the information in the different boxes: 

Name (mandatory)

Introduce the name for our Welcome Message: general information, welcome message, welcome protocol… 

  1. Introduce the information in all available languages by clicking on the flag icon beside the text box. 
  2. Confirm the pop up. 

Description

This text box can be completed if we are going to use this feature only to welcome our guests, or if we want to briefly explain the purpose of this message. Ideally, it should be approximately 80 characters long and should not exceed 100 characters.

  1. Introduce the information in all available languages by clicking on the flag icon beside the text box. 
  2. Confirm the pop up. 
  3. Click on the “Save changes” button. 

Image (mandatory)

It is mandatory to introduce an image, otherwise guests will not be able to close the window as the cross icon will not be visible on mobile devices. 

Images must be in horizontal format, the recommended size is 1920 x 1024px and the file size should not exceed 300kbs.

  • How to upload an image from scratch: 
  1. Click on the image’s frame.
  2. Select an image file from your computer or drag and drop it to upload it. 
  3. Click on the “Insert” button. 
  • How to select an image already uploaded: 
  1. Select one image from the three libraries available (hotel library, chain library or brand library). 
  2. Search for the image and click on “Select” 
  3. Click on the “Insert” image option. 
  • How to delete an image
  1. Hover the cursor over the image you want to delete. 
  2. Click on the trash icon. The image will disappear from the image’s frame. 
  3. Click on the “Save changes” button at the bottom of the CMS. 

Subtitle 

It’s a single line of text, so it should never be over 25 characters. 

  1. Introduce the information in all available languages by clicking on the flag icon beside the text box. 
  2. Confirm the pop up. 
  3. Click on the “Save changes” button.

In addition to all this information, we can use the “Additional Information” options available to add more features to the Welcome Message. For example adding Titles and Descriptions and linking them to different sections.

  • Adding Basic Information to a Welcome Message 
  1. Select “+Add Additional information”.
  2. Choose in the pop up the different "Additional Informations" we want to activate among the following options:

Title and description

This adds a text field in bold, another text field right below and an icon to the left of them. 

  1. Introduce the text in the Title field, in all languages available. 
  2. Introduce the text in the Description field, in all languages available. 
  3. Click on the image frame to upload an icon. You can select one from the gallery or upload one from your computer.
  4. Click on the “Save changes” button. 

It is very useful using the option of linking this information to another section or service previously uploaded in the CMS. 

For example, we can use the “Timetable and description” option to highlight the breakfast buffet timetable and indicate if it is necessary to make a reservation, also it can be linked to the restaurant where the breakfast is served, so guests can directly see all the information regarding the restaurant. This can be applied to all services we need:

  1. Introduce the text in the Title field, in all languages available. 
  2. Introduce the text in the Description field, in all languages available. 
  3. Click on the image frame to upload an icon. You can select one from the gallery or upload one from your computer.
  4. Select the “Link to service” option right under the description text box. 
  5. Select from the list which module is going to be linked to that Title and Description. 
  6. Click on the “Save changes” button. 

Bullet list

This type of “Additional information” is useful for adding data we want to highlight about a service as a bullet point.

  1. Introduce the bullet points  in all available languages by clicking on the flag icon. 
  2. Click on the “Save changes” button. 

Phone number

Here we can enter a phone number. When the guest taps on it, the number will be dialed on its phone. This is why the phone number should have the country’s prefix, in case the guest might not have a national cellular phone. 

  1. Type the phone number in the text box. Remember to include your country’s prefix preceded by “+”. 
  2. Click on the “Save Changes” button. 

Website URL 

We can use this Additional Information to enter the URL of our service’s website. When the guest taps on it, the website will be opened on the phone.

  1. Introduce the URL’s title in all languages available. 
  2. Introduce the URL in the URL textbox.
  3. If you want the URL to be opened in the phone’s browser (outside the app), check the box. If not leave it unchecked.
  4. Click on the “Save Changes” button. 

Tags 

Tags help the search engine finding content. When the guest types something, the search engine searches for those tags. 

  1. Choose the tags you want from the dropdown menu.
  2. Click on the “Save Changes” button. 

Location in the map

  1. Activate the Map Location switch.
  2. In the text box you can type the name of the service. If the restaurant is located in Google Maps, you will see the restaurant’s location. Click on it.
  3. If the search does not find the restaurant, you can always manually select the restaurant’s location by clicking on a point in the map. This will place a pin on this location.
  4. Click on the“Save Changes” button.

 

  • Delete the Additional Information from a Welcome Message 

Deleting all items of one type of Additional Information

Route: MY APP > Select your product > OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION > Welcome Message

  1. Click on “Add Additional Info” and deselect the type of Additional Information you want to delete.
  2. Confirm the pop up. 
  3. Click on the “Save changes” button. 

 

Deleting a single Additional Information item (applies only to Title & Description and Bullet List)

Route: MY APP > Select your product > OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION > Welcome Message

  1. Click on the small red X next to the Title and Description item or the Bullet List item you want to delete (to the right of the text boxes). The item will disappear.
  2. Click on the “Save Changes” button. 

 

Deactivate the map location 

Route: MY APP > Select your product > OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION > Welcome Message

  1. Deactivate the “Map location” switch. 
  2. Click on the “Save changes” button.
