How to assign a category to a restaurant

Purpose of categories

You can assign categories to restaurants under different criteria considering the needs of your property. For example, depending on the service type (buffet, à-la-carte…) or the building where they are placed in case of large resorts. 

Categories are useful to keep restaurants organized in the CMS and also to link a front page shortcut to a restaurants category, or create groups that link to a specific category in case we create content groupings. 

 

How to create a category

Route: CONTENT > FACILITIES > RESTAURANTS > Add Category 

  1. Click Add category
  2. Enter the category name in the text box enabled. 
  3. Click the flag icon to enter the category name in other languages.
  4. Click the arrow icon next to the text field to save changes. 

If you need to create more categories, repeat these same steps for each one.

How to move a restaurant to another category 

Route: CONTENT > FACILITIES > RESTAURANTS 

Once the categories have been created, you can add restaurants to each one by following these steps:

  1. Hover the cursor over the restaurant’s box and click Move
  2. Select from the drop-down menu the category to which you wish to move the restaurant.  

You can change a restaurant's category as many times as you need. 

 

How to delete a category

Route: CONTENT > FACILITIES > RESTAURANTS 

If you need to delete a category, follow these steps: 

  1. Click on the trash icon next to the category name. 
  2. Confirm you want to remove it. 

Once a category is removed, all restaurants that belonged to it will remain uncategorized in the CMS. 

 

How to modify a category’s name 

Route: CONTENT > FACILITIES > RESTAURANTS 

If you need to rename a category, follow these steps: 

  1. Click on the category text box to edit it. 
  2. Enter the new name of the category in the text box. 
  3. Click the flag icon to enter the translations of the category name. 
  4. Click the arrow icon next to the text field to save changes.
