      How to implement a payment gateway

      Overview

      The payment gateway allows your guests to make secure payments directly from the app, enabling them to complete purchases for products or services seamlessly.

      STAY uses Stripe, one of the most trusted and widely used payment gateways in the world. In the future, STAY may consider integrating other payment gateways.

      This guide will take you step by step through setting up Stripe to start receiving payments.

      Prerequisites

      Before you start, make sure you have:

      • The personalized link provided by STAY to register with Stripe.
      • Email address and phone number.
      • Business information, including:
        • Business name.
        • Tax ID.
        • Address and website.
      • An active bank account to receive payments.
      • Business representative details, such as their name, date of birth, and address.

      Step-by-step guide

      Step 1: Register with Stripe

      1. Open the personalized link:

        Click the link provided by STAY to start your registration.

      2. Enter your email and phone number:

        • Fill in these fields and click Continue.
        • You will receive a 6-digit code via SMS. Enter this code to proceed.

      3. Note: Double-check your business name, email, and website details. These will appear on customer receipts.

      4. Select your country and business type:

        • Choose the country where your business operates.
        • Specify your business type and structure.

      1. Fill out your business details:
        • Provide your business’s legal name, Tax ID, address, and website.
      2. Verify your business representative:
        • Enter their name, date of birth, and address.
        • Indicate whether they own 25% or more of the business or are part of the board of directors.
      3. Add your bank account information:
        • Enter the bank account where you want to receive payments.

      1. Review and confirm:
        • Check all your details to ensure accuracy, then confirm to complete your registration.

      Payment gateway conditions

      • Pricing:

        You can view Stripe’s pricing for the Connect Standard account here.

      • Automatic transfers:

        Stripe will automatically transfer payments to your bank account every 7 days.
